বিএনপির যুগ্ম মহাসচিব সৈয়দ এমরান সালেহ প্রিন্সের বাড়ি সংলগ্ন ঈদগাহ মাঠে একটি সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এতে তিনি যে বক্তব্য রাখেন উহা ইংরেজি পত্রিকা দ্য ডেইলি সানে ছাপা হয়েছে। ওই ইংলিশ নিউজের বাংলা অর্থ নিচে তুলে ধরা হলো:
‘বিএনপির যুগ্ম মহাসচিব সৈয়দ এমরান সালেহ প্রিন্স অভিযোগ করেছেন, কিছু রাজনৈতিক দল ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতার আড়ালে নাস্তিকতার রাজনীতি করছে, আবার কেউ কেউ ধর্মভিত্তিক রাজনীতির নামে রাজনৈতিক ইসলামকে কাজে লাগাচ্ছে। তিনি বলেন, বিএনপি সর্বশক্তিমান আল্লাহর প্রতি আস্থা ও বিশ্বাস রেখে ধর্মীয় মূল্যবোধ স্বাধীনতা ও সংস্কৃতিকে সমুন্নত রাখতে চায়। দলটি মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়কে রাজনৈতিক ইসলামে জড়িত না হয়ে নবী মুহাম্মাদ (সাঃ) দ্বারা অনুশীলন করা ইসলামের শিক্ষাগুলি মেনে চলার পক্ষে পরামর্শ দেয়। শুক্রবার ময়মনসিংহের হালুয়াঘাটের ধারা মিয়াবাড়িতে আয়োজিত ইসলামী সম্মেলনে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে প্রিন্স এসব কথা বলেন। ইসলাম শান্তির ধর্ম বলে তিনি জোর দিয়ে বলেন, ইসলামের নামে রাজনৈতিক অশান্তি ও অনৈক্য কাম্য নয়। তিনি আরও সতর্ক করেছিলেন যে একটি দল ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করছে এবং অন্য একটি ধর্মের প্রতি নেতিবাচক ধারণা পোষণ করছে, যা বাংলাদেশেও প্রভাব ফেলছে, আওয়ামী লীগের সমালোচনা করে প্রিন্স দলটিকে রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যে ইসলামকে ব্যবহার করা এবং নিজের অস্তিত্বের জন্য এর বিরোধিতা করার মধ্যে অসঙ্গতির অভিযোগ করেছেন।’

উল্লেখ্য, দ্য ডেইলি সানের ইংলিশ রিপোর্টটি হুবহু নিম্নে তুলে ধরা হলো :
BNP Joint Secretary General Emran Saleh Prince has alleged that certain political parties are engaging in politics with athcism under the guise of secularism, while others are leveraging political Islam in the name of religion based politics. The BNP, he said seeks to uphold religious values freedom and culture with trust and faith in Almighty Allah. The party Advocates for the Muslim community to adhere to the teachings of Islam as practised by prophet Muhammad (sm.) rather than engaging in political Islam. Prince made these remarks on Friday while speaking as the chief guest at an Islamic Conference held at Dhara Miabari in Haluaghat, Mymensingh. He emphasised that Islam is a religion of Peace, asserting that political discord unrest and disunity in the name of Islam are unwelcome. He further warned that one group is conspiring against Islam while another is fostering negative perceptions of the religion, which is also impacting Bangladesh Criticising the Awami League Prince accused the party of inconsistency in alternatives between using Islam for political purposes and opposing it for its own survival.
