যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদা এবং উৎসাহ-উদ্দীপনার মধ্যদিয়ে বাংলাদেশের মহান স্বাধীনতার ৫৩ তম বার্ষিকী এবং জাতীয় দিবস উদযাপন করেছে কুয়ালালামপুরস্থ বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশন। কুয়ালালামপুরের একটি পাঁচতারকা হোটেলে এ উপলক্ষে একটি কূটনৈতিক সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।

মালয়েশিয়ার প্রভাবশালী মানবসম্পদ মন্ত্রী স্টিভেন সিম চি কিয়ং ( Steven Sim Chee Keong) সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে এ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এ উপলক্ষে তিনি মালয়েশিয়ায় নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনার মো. শামীম আহসান এবং হাইকমিশনারের সহধর্মিণী মিসেস প্যান্ডোরা চৌধুরীর সাথে কেক কাটেন ও আনুষ্ঠানিক ফটো সেশনে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

মালয়েশিয়ার মন্ত্রী তার সংক্ষিপ্ত বক্তব্যে বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রপতির সুস্বাস্থ্য ও মঙ্গল কামনাসহ বাংলাদেশের সরকার ও জনগণের সাফল্য ও সমৃদ্ধি কামনা করেন।

মালয়েশিয়ায় বাংলাদেশের হাইকমিশনার মো. শামীম আহসান তার স্বাগত বক্তব্যের শুরুতে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান, সকল শহীদ ও বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধার প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন। হাইকমিশনার প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে বাংলাদেশের উল্লেখযোগ্য অগ্রগতি এবং ২০৪১ সালের মধ্যে একটি উন্নত দেশ ও ‘স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ’- হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য বাংলাদেশের আকাঙ্ক্ষা তুলে ধরেন।
বক্তৃতাকালে, তিনি দক্ষিণ পূর্ব এশিয়ার প্রথম দেশ হিসেবে মালয়েশিয়া কর্তৃক বাংলাদেশকে স্বীকৃতি প্রদানকে গভীর কৃতজ্ঞতার সাথে স্মরণ করেন।

তিনি উল্লেখ করেন যে, ১৯৭৩ সালে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ঐতিহাসিক মালয়েশিয়া সফর স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের সাথে মালয়েশিয়ার কূটনীতিক সম্পর্কের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করেছিল। তিনি বাংলাদেশ ও মালয়েশিয়ার মধ্যে পারস্পরিক মূল্যবোধ, বিশ্বাস ও ঐতিহাসিক বন্ধনের উপর ভিত্তি করে চমৎকার দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্কের কথা উল্লেখ করে বলেন, বাংলাদেশ ও মালয়েশিয়া ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য, বিনিয়োগ, অর্থনৈতিক ও কারিগরি সহায়তা, শিক্ষা, সংস্কৃতি, জ্বালানি, পর্যটন এবং মানবসম্পদ উন্নয়নসহ বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে দ্বিপাক্ষিক সহযোগিতা জোরদার করেছে। বাংলাদেশের হাইকমিশনার রোহিঙ্গা সংকটের দ্রুত সমাধানের জন্য আঞ্চলিক ও আন্তর্জাতিক ফোরামে মালয়েশিয়ার জোরালো সমর্থনের গভীর প্রশংসা করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশী শিল্পীদের বর্ণাঢ্য সাংস্কৃতিক পরিবেশনা বাড়তি মাত্রা যোগ করে এবং দর্শকদের বিমোহিত করে। ওই নৃত্য পরিবেশনায় জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নেতৃত্বে স্বাধীনতার মহাকাব্যিক সংগ্রাম এবং প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার গতিশীল নেতৃত্বে উন্নয়ন যাত্রা তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানস্থলে সুসজ্জিত বাংলাদেশ কর্ণারে ঐতিহ্যবাহী নিদর্শন ও রপ্তানিযোগ্য পণ্য ও হস্তশিল্প প্রদর্শন করা হয়। এছাড়া মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান, সংস্কৃতি, অর্থনীতি ইত্যাদি বিষয়ক প্রকাশনা কর্ণারে স্থান পায় যা অতিথিদের মধ্যে ব্যাপক আগ্রহ সৃষ্টি করে। বাংলাদেশের সাফল্যের গল্পের সচিত্র বর্ণনাসহ অডিটোরিয়ামটি সুসজ্জিত করা হয়েছিল। অনুষ্ঠানে বাংলাদেশের পর্যটন, সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য, বিনিয়োগ এবং দেশের অর্থনৈতিক সম্ভাবনার উপর প্রামাণ্যচিত্র প্রদর্শন করা হয়।

অতিথিদের ঐতিহ্যবাহী বাংলাদেশী খাবার পরিবেশন করা হয় যা ব্যাপক প্রশংসা পায়। এখানে বিশিষ্ট বাংলাদেশী মিষ্টির চেইনশপ ‘রস’-এর একটি স্টল ছিল, যা বিশেষ আকর্ষণ সৃষ্টি করে।

অনুষ্ঠানে মালয়েশিয়ার সানওয়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ন্যানো বিজ্ঞানী বিশ্বসেরা গবেষক ময়মনসিংহের ফুলপুরের কৃতি সন্তান

ড. সাইদুর রহমানসহ বিভিন্ন দেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত/হাইকমিশনার, কূটনীতিক, মালয়েশিয়ার গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ, জাতিসংঘ ও আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থার প্রতিনিধিবৃন্দ, বিপুল সংখ্যক ব্যবসায়ী ও চেম্বার নেতৃবৃন্দ, শিক্ষাবিদ, সাংবাদিক ও বাংলাদেশ কমিউনিটির নেতৃবৃন্দসহ সুশীল সমাজের সদস্যগণ এবং হাইকমিশনের কর্মকর্তাগণ এবং তাদের পরিবারবর্গসহ প্রায় ৪০০ অতিথি উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অতিথিদের পাটের তৈরি দৃষ্টিনন্দন ব্যাগে বাংলাদেশের কৃষি পণ্য এবং প্রকাশনা উপহার দেওয়া হয়।

উল্লেখ্য যে, এ বছরের ২৬শে মার্চ, বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা দিবসের দিনটি রমজানের মাসে পড়ায়, বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশন স্বাধীনতা এবং জাতীয় দিবসের সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানটি ৮ মার্চ ২০২৪ তারিখে আয়োজন করে।

Bangladesh Projected Positively as 53rd Anniversary of the Independence and National Day Celebrated in Kuala Lumpur

Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur hosted a Diplomatic Reception on the occasion of the 53rd Anniversary of Independence and National Day of Bangladesh with due festivity and enthusiasm at a 5-Star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr. Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia, graced the event, held on Friday night (March 8 2024) as the Guest of Honour. He also joined the High Commissioner and Mrs. Pandora Chowdhury, spouse of the High Commissioner, at the cake-cutting event followed by an official photo session.

In his brief remarks, while proposing toast, Malaysian Minister prayed for good health and wellbeing of President and wished success and prosperity for the Government and the people of Bangladesh.

In his welcome remarks, Md. Shameem Ahsan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, paid a glowing tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, all martyrs and valiant freedom fighters. Mr. Ahsan highlighted the remarkable progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her vision for a Developed Country and ‘SMART Bangladesh’ by 2041.

While recalling with profound gratitude that Malaysia was the first country from the Southeast Asia region to recognize Bangladesh, the High Commissioner mentioned that the historic visit by Bangabandhu in 1973 laid the foundation stone for the relations between the independent Bangladesh and Malaysia. He underscored the excellent and growing bilateral relations which now encompass cooperation and partnerships, particularly in trade and investment, connectivity, human resources, education, tourism and culture, manufacturing and agriculture. Bangladesh Envoy deeply appreciated Malaysia’s steadfast support in the regional and international fora for early resolution of the Rohingya crisis.

Stellar cultural performances by the expatriate Bangladeshi artists added colour to the event and kept the enlightened audience captivated. It highlighted the epic struggle for independence led by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and development journey under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh Corner, tastefully decorated with traditional artifacts and motifs, showcased the exportables and handicraft. Publications on the War of Liberation, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, culture, economy etc. were on display at the Corner which generated huge interest among the guests. The auditorium was beautifully decorated, containing pictorial descriptions of Bangladesh’s success stories. Documentaries were screened on tourism, cultural heritage and investment and economic potentials of the country.

Traditional Bangladeshi cuisine was served during the occasion which received wide appreciation. There was a dedicated stall by the prominent Bangladeshi sweetmeat chain “Rosh” which was an added attraction.

Approximately 400 guests including Ambassadors/High Commissioners, diplomats, Malaysian dignitaries, representatives of the UN and International Organizations, a large number of business and Chamber leaders, members of the civil society including academics, journalists and leaders of the Bangladesh community and High Commission officials and their family members attended the event, among others.

Guests received attractive gift bags, made of jute, containing agro products from Bangladesh and publications.

Mentionable that due to the Holy Ramadan, the National and Independence Day Reception was held on Friday, 8 March 2024.
